This problem pest is native to Australia and has set up home in all states include Melbourne’s cooler climate and seems to have adapted quite well.

CGW Spray
Citrus Gall Wasp Spray is a natural insecticide that effectively controls Citrus Gall Wasp. Apply 4+ applications during the spring emergence and in summer for the cooler regions of Australia. 1 application per calendar month during all other periods.
Citrus Gall Wasp Spray is a wettable powder originally used as a protectant against sunburn and heat stress and is applied as a barrier. Results from a trial conducted in 2015-16 showed that spray treatments with CGW Spray reduced the amount of damaging galls by more than 90 per cent.
The barrier film also deters egg laying on new shoots which will also reduce the number of new galls the following season.

Application rate Applications are required to be applied to the point of run off (drenched).
Initial application
Using a small container, slowly mix 50g (3 SCOOPS) of CGW Spray powder per 1 litre of water while constantly stirring to prevent clotting. Add mixed contents into the sprayer bottle, seal then shake vigorously to ensure contents are mixed thoroughly.

Additional applications
Apply 14 to 28 days apart. Add 25g (1½ SCOOPS) of CGW Spray powder per 1 litre of water. (Follow mixing method as per initial application instructions above.) At completion of application, flush sprayers with clean water.
